When it comes to building self esteem, it has been encouraged by many experts that self-love through affirmations have been reported to help minimize mental health issues such as depression and anxiety (SOURCE).
Why would finances be any different? When we need encouragement for our self esteem we affirm ourselves words of encouragement to build confidence, hope, and courage for our lives. Speaking these powerful declarations helps us find a much more grateful and positive attitude towards our circumstances. Others may call it the “Law of Attraction,” but I call it HOPE. Hope in God believing that He will heal, provide, and vindicate our needs.
Do money affirmations really work? YES. There is no sugar coating what I believe, so I will declare it with clarity here. I believe that when we have faith and declare the promises of God over our lives, it makes room for us to have hope in the most deafening situations. The reach of God’s goodness doesn’t just stop at relational environments; rather, I believe that God’s provision overflows in all areas of our lives including finances when we choose to believe in His love for our lives.

And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.
Speaking positive affirmations over our finances and remembering what we are grateful for has this intentional effect of calming our minds despite the financial pressure. I will not be so naive to say that everything will be okay if you speak these abundance affirmations over your life. It’s not like magic fairy dust. Rather, I am saying that when we choose to trust in God and declare His promises over your finances, there is an assurance (subsequent to your faith in God) you will find hope.
